Good lighting starts not with the luminaire but with the installation. The right accessories — profile, power supply, connectors and fixings — decide how neat the system looks and how long it lasts.
An aluminium profile for LED strip does more than give a finished look: it draws heat away, and an overheating strip fails faster. Choose the profile by the strip width and the mounting type — recessed, surface or corner.
Take a power supply (driver) with a 20–30% headroom. If the strip draws 60 W, the supply should be at least 75 W: a source running at its limit dies early. Mind the voltage — 12 or 24 V — and its match to the strip.
Connectors and cable channels are small but important. A secure joint and a hidden cable are both safe and tidy. For damp areas, use accessories with the right IP rating.
